The City of Bristol

Two students in Bristol

Bristol is a fabulous, historic, student-friendly city in the south-west of England. The city is modern with great historical areas and has a large British and international student population.

Bristol has many places of interest, including city museums and art galleries; a science centre for all ages; maritime history with the SS Great Britain ship; a city zoo; an aquarium; the world-famous Clifton suspension bridge across the river Severn and major theatres, as well as first-class nightlife with great cafes and pubs.

Not far from Bristol, there are further attractions including Stately homes in spectacular countryside and woodland; Prehistoric caves such as Wookey hole; Berkeley Castle; Avon Valley steam railway; Old Down country park and wetlands; the popular seaside resort of Weston-Super-Mare and the west country’s own ‘Grand Canyon’ Cheddar Gorge.

There are fast, regular rail connections to London and the whole country – mostly from Bristol Temple Meads Station in the city centre. London and south-coast cities such as Portsmouth and Southampton are easily reached in a few hours, as are northern cities such as Manchester, York and Liverpool. Cardiff, the capital of Wales, is less than an hour away.

We are certain that you will adore Bristol!
